Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well hello again,

Thought I might pen a second entry in to my activities of late....

So last weekend I went with some friends for a hike around the shops in Brighton with the main purpose of heading to the Apple store:  yes I am a geek, sorry!

After wandering around for a fair while, probably a couple of hours I was certainly feeling the strain in the muscles and a lot of discomfort, but the joy of having our adopted neice and nephew with us was a great driving force to fight on.

This week has been a real mixed bag.  I made the most of another day spent with my nephew on Monday  where we played games, watched a film and generally had a great time.
I will let you in to my psyche here:  I find children fascinating and a joy to be around.  They can be so cute and cuddly and then suddenly a real challenge, but definately enjoyable.
Anyway, part of my main set of goals is to be fit enough to be running around the park on a nice sunny day playing football with the kids (one day perhaps some mini-me sprogs) without collapsing in a heap gasping for an inhaler.  Not that I'm any good at football but more for the enjoyment of smiles and cheers as I lose horrendously to their fancy footwork..
Anywho, back on point, I had a few days worth of housework to get through to help out the missus who works really hard in her full time job.

Friday very quickly came around and I got to spend the day in London with my boss at a technology show.
Although the walking may seem trivial, I was very proud of myself for managing to walk from our offices all the way to the train station just under a mile away.
After a fairly swift trip in to London Bridge we then made a slightly accidental detour around the new Shard building in London (one word, HUGE!) we then realised our destination was on the other side of the river...
That extra detour added a further 1/2 mile to my walking.  By the end of the day I think we must have covered a total of around 3 1/2 miles or so along with standing up all day at the event.
Although it felt exhausting and majorly challenging, I am really pleased to have achieved it and certainly not regretting it despite the need for a really hot soak in a tub.

Today has been great fun.  I didnt get to do much walking as such as to be honest every muscle in my body is cringing when I move, teehee, but I was able to spend the day with a friend doing a car detailing session.
Now to most, this may sound like a posh car wash, and to an extent it is.  But imagine doing repetitve swirling motions with your arms from the shoulders whilst hand washing, drying, and applying two seperate layers of polish over the entire vehicle for a couple of hours - and to more than one car!
It is a very enjoyable hobby and again is a good exercise pattern whilst being a great excuse for a natter with friends and if you're lucky, a few cups of tea.

Now however, I am sitting on the sofa absolutely exhausted but in that good way where you feel a modest glow of pride for achieving something fairly substantial.

I shall be signing off tonight with the hope to possibly go swimming in the next week or so and do a number of further walks to keep everything supple and just take each day as it comes.

Love to all
